Who we are
Final Expenses FAQ is an independent information website about final expense insurance, sometimes called burial or funeral insurance. We publish plain-language answers and guides, and we help people who would like to talk with a licensed insurance agent find one. We built it because the questions are simple and the answers are too often buried in sales language.
We are not an insurance company, we do not issue or underwrite policies, and we are not connected with any government agency, including the Social Security Administration and Medicare.
How we make money, in plain terms
Reading this site and calling us costs you nothing. When you call or send a request, you may be connected with a licensed agent or agency. If you choose to buy a policy through them, the insurance company may pay the agent or agency a commission, and we may be paid by the agents or agencies we work with. That payment does not increase the premium you pay.
It does mean we have a financial interest in people choosing to speak with an agent. That is why we explain the downsides and alternatives, such as savings or a prepaid plan, and why we say plainly when final expense insurance may not be needed.

- We do not publish made-up statistics, testimonials or reviews, and we do not promise approval or particular prices.
- We do not name or recommend a specific insurance company in our guides.
- We show when each guide was published and last updated, and we revise guides when rules or practices change.
- Our guides are general education. They are not insurance, legal, tax or financial advice.
What happens when you call or send a request
If you call, a licensed agent answers during our hours, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST. If you send a request, we pass the details you provide, together with your consent, to licensed agents or agencies who may contact you by phone, text or email. You can ask them to stop at any time.
